To deliver projects successfully time after time, it is generally recognised that a standard approach, or methodology, is adopted within the organisation.
This course will explore project methodologies, discussing some of the more common processes and procedures.
An example methodology will be used to create a platform on which to critique ‘off the shelf’ methodologies.
Content
- Methodology
- Framework and Development
- Comparing and contrasting ‘off the shelf’ methods, including PRINCE2, APM and PMI
Prerequisites
A basic understanding of the project lifecycle is assumed
Expected Outcomes
The participant will obtain an understanding of methodologies, guiding the project from its conception to its closure and review.
An appreciation that a standard approach to projects can be beneficial will be stressed, although it will also be proposed that one size does not always fit all.
This course will look beyond PRINCE2 to provide participants with the skills to define or select a methodology appropriate for their environment.
